Dr Akbar has an international medical career spanning over 20 years across Pakistan, New Zealand and Australia. He began as a Surgical Registrar at institutions including Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital & Research Centre, then transitioned to General Practice, building a foundation in both procedural and holistic care.
Dr Akbar has a clinical interest in minor surgical procedures including skin cancer surgery, cyst and lesion excisions, biopsies and foreign body removal. He also offers iron infusion therapy, mental health support, weight loss management and geriatric care.

Minor surgical procedures at Botanic Ridge Doctors are performed by trained GPs in our procedure room. Most are completed in a single visit.
Your GP examines the area, discusses the procedure, takes consent and books the procedure visit if needed.
Local anaesthetic is used to numb the area. The procedure itself is typically 15–45 minutes depending on complexity.
Sutures or dressings are applied as needed. Your GP explains wound care, activity restrictions and signs to watch for.
Suture removal at 7–14 days. Pathology results (if biopsy taken) are reviewed at follow-up with management plan.
